Elon Tuteering And Other Developments
Elon Tuteering And Other DevelopmentsElon is not some big corporation whose sole purpose is to make more money. Elon is a leading manufacturer of televisions, and it is the home-based company of SpaceX, one of the most promising and fast growing space-related companies.Elon is also one of the largest developers of automated computer software, its technologies provide for the most efficient, cost effective means of carrying out the tasks necessary for real time virtualization and telepresence. Even to the most experienced IT professionals this technology is revolutionary. It allows for the people who speak different languages to interact and communicate via video, even if they live hundreds of miles apart.Convenient Virtual Convenience is yet another facet of the technology, which enables communication between persons in many different locations without the need for travel costs to and from the meeting location. Because of this there are no limitations on communication. Thus enabling a wider audience, in which the speakers can reach.Videoconferencing technology also adds to the fact that with the proper training, one can be an expert in the subject in which he or she is taught. The materials that the teacher provides in the course can be seen and understood by a person who is not trained to perform the same. While technology continues to progress, Elon also invests in the technology, and it helps in the development of more products that can be applied to education. This includes the applications that have been patented, but can be used in a classroom setting. That includes interactive hands-on instructional courses which enable teaching through video.According to Elon's current plans, an Elon tutor will have access to all the same communication channels as the student, such as the internet, computers, email and chat. He or she will be able to see the student's assignments, and can ask questions and provide suggestions. The student will also be able to see the tut or's hand, and while they are interacting will be able to tell whether they like what they see or not.In addition to this, Elon will be looking to start a community of like minded people who share similar goals, such as communicating with each other and sharing ideas. As one of the companies in the United States looking to develop more applications for virtual, tutoring will be a critical part of their development. There are so many applications, that one cannot imagine, so a step at a time is needed to accomplish these goals.

What is it Like to Attend Fairfield University
What is it Like to Attend Fairfield University Owen earned his bachelors degree in theatre from Fairfield University. He specializes in English tutoring, test prep tutoring, and a number of other subjects. Below, he shares his experience at Fairfield University: Describe the campus setting and transportation options. Owen: Fairfield University feels like an oasis. It resides in the beautiful suburban beach town of Fairfield, Connecticut. From end to end, one can walk this lovely campus in about thirty minutes. The compact nature creates a sense of community that is unique to Fairfield; everyones face feels familiar and every destination feels close. And escaping the oasis is easy: a free shuttle runs a loop every half hour, to the train station (which provides a direct line to Grand Central Station in New York City), the downtown area, and the local supermarket. How available are the professors, academic advisers, and teaching assistants? Owen:The physical sense of community and easy access extends to the professors. Fairfields typically small class sizes allow for students to form genuine relationships with their educators. Professors go beyond making themselves available for regular office hours. They take time to talk with students after classes, offer research partnerships, and recommend books tailored to ones interests. Some will even sit down with a student for coffee and offer valuable career counseling and insight. One always gets the feeling that the professors take their work with students seriously and that they want what is best for their students. How would you describe the dorm liferooms, dining options, location, socialization opportunities with other students? Owen:From top to bottom, the university works to maintain a continuous sense of community. Dorm life is a key piece of this community. Incoming freshmen are surveyed based on preferences, like average bed time and study habits, then placed with a roommate who is a good match. The semi-random assignment process pushes freshmen to make new friends on the first day. Official events support community bonding, but often, its the casual drop-ins, the open doors, and friendly hellos that build the sense of togetherness among hallmates. Fairfield only has one main dining hall, called Barone, and it extends the communal feeling of the dorms outward. Its hard to walk into the dining hall without seeing a friend from a class, a dorm, or a club, and Barone can provide an all-day space for socialization and studying. Which majors/programs are best represented and supported? Owen:The university is a force in the worlds of nursing and business, boasting two excellent schools for both that produce students who are almost immediately employed after graduation. The majors outside of these programs also offer wonderful opportunity and support. I can say personally that my experience as a theatre major at Fairfield has led in large part to my deep love and appreciation for my time at the university. I had professors who were actively interested in my personal and academic growth, who worked alongside me to produce plays, and who always pushed me to realize my potential to create brilliant theatre. How easy or difficult was it for you to meet people and make friends as a freshman? Does Greek life play a significant role in the campus social life? Owen:Meeting people as a freshman can take time, but the school works hard to create spaces for building relationships. Each dorm has weekly events for all of its residents. Clubs actively seek out new recruits and eagerly bring them into the fold. Movie nights, lecture series, concerts, church services, and community outings stack the monthly calendar with opportunities to make friends. In my experience, my closest and most quickly-made friends came from my involvement in clubs and extracurricular programs. Each club functions as a community within the larger community, and these mini-communities take care of their members. Everyone is offered opportunities to be responsible for some aspect of the club and chances to gain respect by working alongside veteran club members as an equal. Fairfields active club, program, and sports communities take the place of Greek life on campus. For me, the absence of fraternities and sororities seemed to facilitate making friends across diverse groups of people. How helpful is the Career Center and other student support services? Owen:Because of the business and nursing Schools' prominent reputations, high profile companies consistently recruit on campus. I had a strong idea of my path immediately after college and did not make much use of the career center, however I did make use of other support services. The schools counseling service is filled with compassionate and qualified individuals who, like the professors, always have a students best interests at heart. How are the various study areas such as libraries, the student union, and dorm lounges? Owen:Every dorm at Fairfield has multiple lounges and study areas that are available to any student. The library is spacious and filled with a variety of resource rooms for a number of purposes. Around finals time, the resource rooms get quite crowded and often require a reservation, but students are also free to use classrooms as study spacesensuring that everyone has the space they need to prepare. Describe the surrounding town. Owen:The town surrounding the university has a quiet suburban feel. There are a number of good restaurants and coffee shops in the downtown area, but in terms of nightlife, the town itself is quiet. Students mostly stay on campus to socialize, but there is typically enough going on to keep everyone engaged and happy. One of the true perks of Fairfield University is its proximity to Fairfield Beach. Many seniors live in beach houses, and there are a number of memorable events held at the beach. Describe one memorable experience with a professor and/or class. Perhaps one you loved the most or one you regret the most. Owen:My experience with the FairfieldTheatre program involving one of my professors was a microcosm of the broader Fairfield University experience. At one point, in a moment of crisis, I turned to one of my professors and spilled out a myriad of academic struggles, fears of the future, and personal doubts. Sitting in her office, we talked through a plan and a path for the future. She expressed firm, unyielding belief in my ability to become a successful student and artist, and offered continued support along the way. I have stayed in contact with her ever since, checking in for career advice, encouragement, and wisdom. That kind of personal relationship is something that the Fairfield University community fosters. The small classes, the inclusive atmosphere of clubs and programs, and the student-centered approach create a space where mentors and friends seem to be around every corner. Whether youâre looking to improve your non-verbal communication skills or simply want to break bad habits, here are some tips on how to categorize youâre the personal goals and skills in your development plan.In order to start managing your new skills and goals, begin with understand ing the traditional definitions of self-development before starting to build your own. Without going into an extensive definition of how personal development started, the movement can be understood through psychologist Abraham Maslow and his hierarchy of needs. This pyramid, with itâs final version containing five levels, visualizes self-improvement as a series of needs that must be fulfilled. In order to attain the self-knowledge, personal growth and development represented by the highest level of the pyramid, basic needs and life skills must be mastered first. These have to do with safety, respect from others, food, shelter and more â" all categorized under self-esteem, safety, love and belongingness needs. In other words, when conducting your self-assessment on what areas to improve in your life, it is vital that you have your basic needs met first. In order to focus on building transferable skills or hard skills, you need to have a supportive community, shelter and feel safe.U sing this definition as a starting point, you can begin to focus on your personal development goals by building your own definition of personal development. Start by targeting the area you would like to work on â" whether that be your professional career or home life â" and build a list of the various achievable goals and skills you can work towards. Here are some examples:Build a better rapport with your family membersEnhance your presentation skills, or other professional skillsIncrease your fitness both physically and mentallyWhile personal development can be implemented in various different ways, itâs defined by goal setting and devising a plan to achieve those goals. Whether you choose to follow a mentor through development courses, or take development through self-teaching, sticking to this basic definition can facilitate the start of your journey.Find a confidence course London. If you like teamwork, search for group opportunities for personal growthPersonal Development Pla ns Made EasyDeveloping a plan for your personal growth is not an easy task. With the proliferation of development programs that promise everything from helping to improve your job skills to getting rid of bad habits â" picking a starting point can be nearly impossible. Before getting overwhelmed with concepts like career exploration and human potential, here is some advice on how to formulate a development plan tailored to your life goals.Develop a GoalNothing leads to procrastination more than depending on intangible ideas such as inspiration. While having epiphanies about your life can definitely help motivate you to start on your journey towards personal development, it most likely wonât help you sustain long-term growth and development. What is a great driving force: routine and goal setting! Yes, it is definitely not as sexy of a concept as inspiration and will definitely not score you any points as cocktail-conversation. However, in works by professors Gary Latham and Edwa rd Locke dating all the way from the 1960s to the present, goal setting has been found to be one of the most productive tools towards realizing everything from projects to improving management. What became established as goal setting theory, and later brought about motivation theory, comes down to one basic fact. In their study, Locke and Latham discovered that not only is setting goals effective, but that people actually work harder and longer when those goals are difficult to attain. While this seems counter intuitive to what weâve been taught growing up, setting up difficult goals can actually help you persist in making them come true. There is one catch, however. A study conducted in 2004 found that while this habit can reinforce peopleâs development, it can also lead to âunethical behaviorâ when people donât quite reach the goals theyâve set out for themselves. Think: every movie ever made about sabotage and sports competition or every misleading advert youâve seen on Instagram. Here are some ideas of goals you can set for yourself, having in mind the general rule to stick to legal activities in trying to accomplish them:Increasing persuasion and assertiveness skills by joining a debate teamRelieve stress in your life by becoming a yoga teacherAttain a positive attitude by joining an improv groupBecome your own boss by starting a small businessPlan Your DevelopmentWhether youâre simply looking to increase your employability, want to work on your interpersonal skills, or just want to progress in your career development, here are some steps you can follow to draft your personal development plan.Step 1: Pick a GoalIf you havenât already read the above about the importance of goal setting, now would be a good time to do so. Picking a goal you may think is too difficult is a perfect starting point.Step 2: PrioritizeOnce you your goal, think about the size and breadth of your goal in terms of time. Have an estimate of how long youâd like to ta ke to accomplish it by drawing up all the tasks you think will be necessary to complete it. Once you have this, youâll be able to prioritize your goals into categories like time, the level of importance to you now and later on.Step 3: What or Who Will Help You?In laying out how youâre going to get from one task to another, make a list of the materials youâll need to get there. For example, whether youâll need extra skills training, conflict resolution courses, painting tools, access to the internet, etc. While it can seem callous to include people in your list of materials, some of your goals will never be accomplished without the expertise or support of those around you.Starting the ProcessNow that youâve got a plan, donât let yourself be convinced to keep putting it off. Keep in constant touch with the plan youâve made, make sure youâre working towards your goal with the frequency it requires and look out for tips that might help the process. Whereas you might need daily practice to learn a new language, building a website might be something youâd like to work on once every week.If you're doing an internship search, self development can help you find your career focusResources to Help You Reach Your Personal Development GoalsGaining an interest in personal growth is, naturally, linked to an increased desire to learn more about effective communication, solving problems and skills development. While this list is not meant to be a definitive guide on al the various self-development materials you can explore, it does provide some direction as to where to find them.Personal SkillsWhile all development can be seen as personal development, this category deals more with enhancing your skill set that deals with mental and physical health. Some areas you may seek to improve are:Improve your people skills through personality developmentPractice verbal communication skills to improve your rapport with family members or colleaguesBe healthier by followi ng an exercise and nutrition planFitness related development courses can often be most effective when found online, where you can search for programs that are more tailored towards your specific health goals. Community programs, such as group yoga classes, are a great way to build a support network for both exercise and mental health concerns.Technical SkillsThe best way to find technical skills materials is by listening to podcasts or taking part in courses. For example, if you think perfecting a language will aid in building your career, finding a weekly program can be a perfect starting point. Here are some other examples what technical skills you can improve upon:Boosting employability skills like job interview tacticsPractice career planning and career explorationIncrease your hard skills list by practicing programming, business intelligence and other transferable skillsLeadership SkillsImproving your management skills can best be done through taking lessons through podcasts an d reading materials. Some classic books about personal development have remained best sellers throughout the years because of the invaluable wisdom they provide. Some examples of areas of interest you can research in this field are:Developing a positivity work ethicEnhancing conflict management skillsWorking on adaptabilityHow to Practice Development EverydayNow that youâve set goals, developed a personal development plan and are on your way to achieving your personal targets â" what is there left to do? Practicing personal development everyday can be essential but doesnât have to be limited to your various development plans. Here are some ways you can incorporate a little growth into your daily routine.Practice stress management by journaling every dayEnhance your self-awareness through mindfulness and breathing techniques
European Geopolitics
European Geopolitics Defining Europeâs Geopolitical Landscape ChaptersThe Geopolitical Background of EuropeWestern versus Eastern EuropeEurope: A Geopolitical PowerhouseRough Seas Ahead for Europeâs Most Powerful NationsIn many ways, Europe is quite remarkable. It claims only about 2% of the worldâs landmass but her people have been influential in shaping world politics for millennia. Not just politics, either! Europe, in particular western and southern Europe, has led the world in scientific discovery and literary achievement, military power and global economic security.Another extraordinary attribute of Europe is, for so comparatively small a region, she has a wide range of climates and terrain that permits culturing a dazzling array of consumables.Although Europe is defined as a continent in her own right, this grouping of nations actually lies on the Eurasian plate; a tectonic plate that reaches from China to far beyond our seemingly independent island.Several geographical barriers mark Europeâs separation from what we commonly refer t o as Asia; among them are included mountain ranges and rivers.Culture, ethnicity, language and belief systems further mark the sharp contrast between the people of Eurasia. So what, exactly, do we mean when we say Europe? In broaching this topic, we take into consideration most of the sovereign states of Europe.According to the Montevideo Convention, a sovereign state is recognised in international law as:a country that has a defined populationa nation with its own governmenta defined territory marked by bordersa government that can engage in relations with another nation-state.From the emerging powers in Eastern Europe to the political heavies leading western European nations, your Superprof now uncovers the geopolitical environment of the region called Europe.claim territory in the name of their countryâs crown.Yes, there were crowns aplenty, in Europe!Apparently not satisfied with a mere kingdom, many European heads of state set about building an empire for themselves.A fine ex ample of this is in how Spainâs sovereignty still impacts geopolitics in Latin America.Portugal, a relatively small portion of land on the Iberian peninsula, was the first to form a vast empire consisting of lands in South America, East Asia and along both coasts of Sub-Saharan Africa.Once the fleets set sail, there was no stopping them. Soon, the prominent monarchies of Western Europe had pretty much carved the world up amongst themselves, ours included. At one time, our British Empire laid claim to nearly a quarter of the earthâs total landmass. Those that resisted the western push, such as China and Japan, nevertheless eventually surrendered a bit of territory to these great world powers.China and Japan feature heavily in East Asiaâs geopolitics.Considering the centuries-long push for acquisition and leadership, especially among Western European nations, it should come as no surprise that they would lead the world, economically and politically, still today.Find out what kind of impact European colonialism had in Africa...Looking at this map, it is easy to see Europe's east-west line of demarcation Image by Mabel Amber, still incognito... from PixabayWestern versus Eastern EuropeThe events of the early 20th Century brought Europeâs global hegemonic ambitions to a screeching halt.More specifically, the âshot heard âround the worldâ that precipitated the First World War narrowed western European countriesâ focus to the battles encroaching on their immediate territory. The subsequent economic depression substantially lowered their standard of living which, in turn, gave rise to the capitalist economic model.Germany was the only western European country to weather the Great Depression relatively well, in part because its economy was stimulated by arms production. And then, just as individual citizens were discovering the path to riches, the Second World War broke out, plunging Europe once again into bloodshed, political and economic distress.Shortly after the cessation of hostilities, tensions led to Russia blockading Eastern European nations and claiming all of those lands as satellite states, forming what is known as the East Bloc â" a communist-socialist regime.Meanwhile, Western Europe, having largely benefitted from political and strategic alliances during these difficult times, embraced liberalism and unity as a way of staving off the type of nationalism that had twice brought them to war.The respective sidesâ alliances and the radical differences in their political and economic ideals led to a figurative Iron Curtain being drawn between the two regions, marking the start of the Cold War.For the next 44 years, there were two Europes: west and east. One developing and one hidden away.As you might have noticed, we do not discuss Russian geopolitics in this article. For its sheer magnitude, that topic is broached in a separate article.Europe: A Geopolitical PowerhouseMany of western Europeâs geographical features such a s rivers and coastlines provide natural shipping lanes, allowing for extensive trade... and those powers made ample use of them. The resulting trade agreements led to Northern Europe being one of the most developed and wealthiest regions in the world. That wealth and their reputation for economic stability, if not prosperity, made European countries the desired destination of migrants from Africa and the Middle East. One important point concerning Europeâs economy is that the northern countries are far better off than Southern Europe: Italy, Greece and, to a lesser extent, Spain are all struggling to manage on a less-than-stellar GDP.Although economics is not considered a factor in geopolitical evaluations, economic concerns do play a part in how a countryâs resources are marshalled for everything from energy security to trade deals.Following the Cold War, the emerging markets of Eastern Europe sought to find the best fit for their unique cultures and political aspirations.Poland a nd Hungary both became NATO members rather quickly and they both admire some of the principles espoused by the European Union... but not all of them: both countries have conservative governments that bristle at the EUâs more liberal leanings.Nevertheless, they do benefit from their proximity to Western Europe, especially where trade and infrastructure development are concerned. On the other hand, the Baltic States and Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Bulgaria are all for the European Union, both for their pro-western stance and for the economic benefits and the protections they derive.By no means does all of that imply that all is well and the European Union is going strong. In the European Unionâs cumulative 74 years, no member-state has actually left the Union. Great Britain was the first to formally signal an intent to withdraw pending an acceptable trade agreement.Western Europe's waves of liberalism are crashing on the rocks of populism Image by Dimitris Vetsikas fro m PixabayRough Seas Ahead for Europeâs Most Powerful NationsTrade is only one aspect of the negotiations for our leaving the European Union. What we currently accept as Union rules and laws will become a matter of foreign policy after we leave. Everything from going on holiday to Spain to protecting our borders will become a matter of international relations. We are by far not the only country flirting with disbanding the Union.A global trend toward nationalism is doing far more to threaten the unity that, in some respects, has been the envy of other bodies of government elsewhere in the world.Furthermore, populist sentiment is gaining traction across Western Europe. In spite of the comparatively long list of social benefits that European citizens enjoy, many resent having to pay high taxes only to see those monies distributed... away from their collections of concerns and desires. They also resent the opportunities given to foreign investors to draw ever more business, and thus more capital into the Unionâs coffers while individuals in their respective nations can hardly stay ahead of their bills â" let alone dream of their own startup.Other governments, especially in southern Europe, rail against their currency being centrally controlled and balanced against wealthier nations such as Norway and Luxembourg, giving them no chance to adjust for inflation or manage its value.Itâs not for nothing that many consider Conteâs cabinet, formed just last year, to be the first populist government in Western Europe! To be sure, disenchanted citizens is not a novel concept; throughout history, citizens rising up against their governments have changed virtually every countryâs political path. What turned the tide of liberalism so abundant in Western Europe was the surge of immigrants from Syria â" ironically enough, a country that had been colonised by France and only recently returned to indigenous control. As desperate people flooded into Central Europe, simmering r esentments boiled over. Now, not only did John/Jane Public have to see their tax euros spent on things that did not directly benefit them, they had to witness people who did not speak their language or share their culture reap the rewards of their labour!Geopolitically, it is quite likely that Europe will remain a global leader; she had too many resources and is too well-situated to lose that crown.Whether that leadership continues with countries and people united is, just now, seriously in question.Europe and the Union are not suffering greatly from external pressure. It is the internal quakes and jolts â" including our countryâs desire to divorce ourselves from them, that are making it difficult to find a clear path to progress.Whether they will in todayâs global geopolitical climate remains to be seen. Now learn about geopolitics in every major region in the world...

Timely Tips for Following your Schedule. You can do it baby. BobbiM Mar 27, 2014 We know, it is darn hard to make yourself follow a schedule that involves things you dont necessarily want to do. Check out these tips and youll be excited when its time to studyor maybe not. -plan to study when you are most alert. If you find that you are tired or you cant concentrate when you study, you probably are not studying at your most alert time. Try to find some blocks of time that are naturally best for you. Some students study best at night, others study best first thing in the morning. Test several times of the day to find out when you are the most ready to study. Experiment with times that you might not initially think are your best times of day-you may surprise yourself and be a morning (or night) person after all. -spend some time every day on each course you are taking. Even when you dont have an assignment due, plan some time each day to read the text, review your notes, an prepare for the next class. If you are taking classes that require problem solving such as math or chemistry, it is a good idea to work some problems each night. If you are taking a language class, plan to review new vocabulary or work on verb conjugation every day. By spending some time every day you wont have to cram for exams because you will always be caught up. -be specific. The more specific you can be when planning your study schedule, the better because you will know exactly what you need to do each time to study. When you create your schedule, dont just write down study. Instead, write Read psychology text pages 219-230. -prioritize. When you make your schedule, it is helpful to prioritize what you have to do. You might want to label your assignments as high, medium, or low priority. -make To Do lists. -borrow time-dont steal it. If you decide to go out for a pizza instead of spending an hour reading your psychology chapter-great. But remember that its important to just borrow that time. Be sure to add the activity you missed to your schedule or to do list for the next day so that you can make up that time. -use the time between your classes. Many times students dont know where all their time goes-an hour in-between classes, two hours between school and work, 15 minutes before classes begin-all of this time adds up and it is useful for getting your work done. You can read for class during hour breaks, review your notes while you are waiting for class to begin, use the time between lunch and class to review, or even meet with a study group in the laundromat. Dont let this time get lost. -schedule studying breaks. If you plan to study for more than an hour or so at a time, schedule a 10-15 minute break for each hour and a half to two hours of study. You should also plan short breaks when switching from one topic to another so you can give yourself some time to refocus. But be careful that your short breaks dont turn into long breaks. -take some time off. Many students feel guilty when they take time off because they are always thinking about the things they should be doing such as working on that chemistry lab assignment. But when you have a good schedule, you will be able to reward yourself by taking time off without guilt because you know that you have planned time to get all of your assignments done. So after you have completed your work-relax and enjoy yourself, you deserve it. In fact, you should plan some free time when creating your schedule. -dont spin your wheels. If you are having trouble in a course, get some assistance. Seek help from a tutor, a professor, or a friend, anyone who might be able to help. There is nothing that gets in the way of managing your time more than wasting it worrying, rather than doing something productive so that you can be on too of things in a course that is difficult for you. Its important to get help if you need it and get back on track before you fall too far behind to catch up. Excerpt from College Success Strategies by Sherrie L. Nist and Jodi Patrick Holschuh.
